LEARNING CENTRES
The Makhaseh Learning Centre seeks to educate children from the ages of 3 years through to their final year of High School. We believe in finding and developing the strengths of each child and encouraging them to discover their unique path as they grow into the purposes that await them.

MAKHASEH BUDDIES
The worldwide pandemic has resulted in many rural and impoverished children in South Africa staying out of school for 5 months and more, without receiving any extra support or continuity in their learning.
We have identified children like this from an informal settlement close by to us, and are offering after school lessons on a daily basis to help them regain some of the learning that has been lost to them. A feeding programme and sports club has been established in partnership with Richlands Church and the Richmond Community Trust to further support these children.
STUDENTS
Students from impoverished homes in the greater community of Richmond are identified and interviewed. However, our Learning Centre is also open to the broader community of Richmond as the state owned schools find it more and more difficult to offer education that adequately equips our children with sound educational foundations.
CURRICULUM
We use the Impaq Home Schooling Curriculum. This has allowed our students to continue learning at home during the lockdown without major interruptions. This format also allows us to accommodate students who are challenged with health issues and have to miss school due to poor health.
CLASS SIZE
No more than 24 children will be admitted to a class. This will enable personalised and focused teaching to happen.
Extra Mural activities
As we grow, more after school activities will be made available. Our focus is on creativity, environmental programmes and non-traditional school sports.
